Email - Pushing Hard To The End - 78 Days Left

Howdy everyone! Time is flying out here in the 973.

My first week with Elder Risenmay has been great! We have been working
like crazy.

We have 4 more people on baptismal date, 12 new
investigators and 7 investigators came to church. Yes, 7!

So a little bit about my new comp. his name is Christian Risenmay. He
is from Provo Utah, he loves missionary work and he has been out for
almost 10 months now. He loves Jesus just like me. :)
We are working hard and finding lots of people to teach! We have a
goal of baptizing 4 people this transfer and it is very possible but
we will need your prayers and faith!
Pray for Noelia, Paula, Bianca, Miguel, Stephanie, and Jissette!

Also we had an amazing experience this Sunday. As a mission
we had a goal to find families. So yesterday we were walking down the
street street when we found Domingo and he sent us to his house to
find his family and there were 8 of them there at the time and we have
a return appointment with them for next week!  We will keep you
updated on that!

Well I don’t have a ton of time and I am at the point where I
feel like nobody reads my emails so I will just stop here. Haha I love
all those who read this and all the others who don’t, well your missing out. LOL

Email - The Emails Get Shorter The Closer He Gets To His Return Date :')

Well this week was zone p day so I don't have a lot of time to write.

Well anyway this week we had transfers and I will be staying here and my new comp will be Elder Risenmay.  He is literally one of my favorite missionaries ever! He is so sincere and works really hard. He will probably be with me until the end of my mission too.

We have also been called to he the district leaders too... So now we have both zone leader assignments and district leader assignments... This will be a busy couple months!
This week we had weather in the 80s and also rainy and in the 40s so that was a big plot twist.

I will hopefully be able to write more next week but I love you all and hope you feel the Saviors love more strongly this week! He loves you!

Email - I Have Mad Pancake Skillzzz

Weekly email for April 2nd - 8th

Time is flying. Make it slow down.

So this week was great as always. Today I went fishing at some lake that is like 3 miles from my house. I didn’t catch anything sadly and it was quite funny because the people around me were trying to tell me how to fish and what bait to use and how to tie a knot but I didn't have the heart to tell them that I already knew all that. Or that I’m pretty sure that I have caught more fish than all of them combined so I just took their advice like I had no idea what I was doing. Haha I can’t wait to go fishing back in AZ!

So on Tuesday we had a lesson with Bianca and she is doing pretty bad. She is not mentally all there and her parents are on the verge of taking her to a mental facility. We went over with President and talked about the importance of reading and praying and helped her realize when she is feeling upset or depressed or really any negative feeling that she could read from the scriptures and talk to her Father in Heaven. We sang I am a child of God and the parents were crying by the end. Not gunna lie we did sound great as a trio with President.

I had an exchange with Elder Feick the AP and I went to his area in Elizabeth. It’s a pretty rough place too. Nothing compared to my area but still pretty low class hood area. They live in an apartment with 4 missionaries and Elder Fletcher from Mesa lives there! He is the greatest. We will be best friends when he gets home 1 year after me. For breakfast we made pancakes and everyone was doubtful of my cooking skillzzz until I made them pancakes and now they call me chef Davis. ;)

Our cool tent fort

I also went on an exchange with Elder Broberg from Utah and it was great. He is still in training but he is a great teacher and is finally getting used to living in the hood of Paterson haha. There are so many stories I could tell you from this week but I will limit myself.

So it turns out that our mission the New Jersey Morristown mission is the only mission in the world that is currently using Facebook for finding. Many other missionaries in the world have Facebook but just haven’t mastered it like our mission.

My comp and I are currently doing the best, numbers wise with Facebook so I guess that makes us the best Facebook missionaries in the whole world ;)

That’s about all I can remember for now but i want you all to know that i love the mission and it’s making me sad to realize it is coming closer to the end of my time here so I will make the most of my remaining time. I love you all and invite you to study the conference talks throughout the week. Have a good one.

Email - I Went On A Hike In The "Mountains"

Sorry for slacking on my weekly letters! I'm just living up the
mission and talking with all the people and not taking time to email everyone.
(We'll I have but they've been short)

We had another snowstorm on Tuesday, so that was fun. We did a lot of
calling and Facebook work because everyone else was online at the same
time.

On Wednesday we again visited the family Fletcher Diaz and had a great
dinner and lesson. This teenager I had been talking to on Facebook a
while back texted me out of no where and asked how to get to church.
She and her mom came, and they loved it. We have been over a few times
since then and they love us so much. They live in a rough part of the
city, and are looking to move soon, but until then we are teaching
them. It's been a bit of a humorous struggle to get them to address us
correctly, because our first names are on Facebook. It's really weird
to be called by your first name on the mission the few times it
happens.

Outside of that, we met some very neat people this week, but most of
them haven't kept in contact very well, so on Sunday we were feeling
pretty bummed. However, at church we had all of our recent converts
come, and Karolina gave an amazing and spirit-guided talk in church
about prayer and faith. She is the mom of the Dominican family that
was baptized  a little over a month ago. We will be going to the
temple with them and Ken soon we hope. The two less active families we
have been focusing on came to church as well, and they were  well
follow shipped by the ward.

I spoke on Sunday and I spoke on the 3 things every recent
convert needs. 1. Friends 2. A calling. 3. The good word of God.

Today we went on a little hike and went to the falls again with the
zone. There are not very many mountains over here, but we take advantage
of what we do have. It was a nice view and made me a little more
excited to actually go on a hike and see mountains again.

Well, I love you all and so does your Heavenly father! Have a great one and watch
general conference with some questions in mind.

Email - My Mission Video Went Viral..... Well Kinda

Hello everyone! This week was really full of miracles and blessings. A big blessing this week was Melissa coming to church, after she basically told us she wasn't interested anymore.
The members invited her and she's back in the game!

We also had a neat experience with a 16 year old named Bianca who messaged my companion and asked where the church was. She not only came, but came with her mom Judy. She told us in a lesson later that night she wished she could go to church everyday, and the dad said the two talked about it so much that he wanted to go next week!

Don't have a lot of time to write this week, but just wanted to mention that the Zone had a cool activity where we all used Facebook for 1 hour in a spirit of prayer at the same time. There were a lot of cool miracles like finding former investigators, getting answers to specific prayers, and a lot of missionaries gaining confidence in using this technology we have been blessed with. It was fun.

Our Zone Conference was this past Friday and it was all about Facebook as well.

Our video ended up with about 8,000 views up to date, so that was pretty cool too. Thanks for sharing it everyone!

Also I got to change a tire for the Sisters missionaries cause they got a flat tire. It was super fast. Well I love you all and have a great week!

My weekly random pics.  Hope you enjoy.

Email - We Got In A Fender Bender

Sorry this update will be short again. So this week was had lots of ups and downs. We got dropped by almost all of our progressing people and it was super rough. Melissa dropped us and then Bertha and her daughter dropped us. They were all progressing so much. Satan is working hard over here. :(
We had a big snow storm and got about 8 inches and it brought the cold with it.

Another highlight of the week.... we got into a fender bender.
I was sitting at a red light when someone hit us from behind. All is well.
But we also found quite a few super cool people we will start to work with. Also a few inactive came to church this Sunday so that was super exciting.  The work is moving along and we are still pushing though the hard days. They come and they go! Just push through them and you will see blessings! Have a great week. I love you all.
